This is a unique opportunity for an experienced, well rounded, Manager, with experience reporting in IFRS framework to join our dynamic Assurance team. Your role as a key member of our team will be involved in client service, team leadership, and managing engagements and helping to build our growing IFRS assurance and advisory practice. You will demonstrate the ability of influencing and empowering others to achieve their professional goals and contribute to a motivating team environment. In this role you will be acting as a "business advisor" to our clients. This gives you the opportunity to make a difference by helping our clients solve business problems and achieve their business goals.

As a Manager, IFRS, your responsibilities will include:
  • Leading and executing assurance and advisory client engagements, with a focus on entities reporting under IFRS, while providing exceptional client service to a wide variety of business sectorsParticipate and lead engagement teams in the delivery of complex accounting advisory projects, including facilitating training sessions, providing accounting and financial reporting support as a resource to client management teams, and leading implementation work on new standards and / or transitioning to a new framework
  • Provide support to engagement teams, which could include acting as a sounding-board or a "second set of eyes"
  • Planning and leading teams, ensuring that client expectations are clearly communicated
  • Build and maintain relationships with appropriate levels of client management
  • Proactive problem solving with the team and the client
  • Being a leader in the firm by actively contributing to the development and execution of the office business plan
  • Contributing to new business development by understanding Grant Thornton and its service lines, as well as utilizing your credibility with clients
  • Participating in the coaching and performance management process of the practice by conducting timely performance reviews, providing ongoing feedback and training to develop junior team members

  • Completed CPA designation, with a minimum of 4 - 5 years of accounting experience
  • Experience working with IFRS reporting clients within a public practice scope, including publicly listed entities and publicly accountable entities
  • Demonstrated success in building and maintaining client relationships
  • Experience researching complex accounting issues under IFRS and forming a proposed approach
  • Ability to explain complex ideas so they are easily understood by others
  • Demonstrated success in business development, advisory and team management
  • A team player able to rally resources and work with others to meet the needs and exceed the expectations of the client
  • Build and deepen meaningful business relationships with colleagues, clients and in the marketplace, based on strong rapport, trust and respect
  • Strong interest in coaching and development, with a commitment to personal growth
  • Being an articulate, inspiring and versatile communicator
