TD Auto Finance is a dynamic division within TD.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a rapidly growing business which is establishing 3 newly created Auto Banking Centres headquartered in Toronto, Calgary and Montreal/Brossard led by regional market leaders and a team of commercial bankers dedicated to the automotive dealership industry in Canada. This team of bankers covering all of Canada will work closely with internal partners including the consumer/retail auto loan business.
In the goal to become Canada's #1 auto lender, we are over 900 people strong including an external sales team located coast to coast, as well as teams in credit adjudication, funding, inside sales, loan administration, customer service, collections and recovery, and our federated functions of risk management, technology solutions, finance & human resources.
Job Description
As a Relationship Manager you will work on a two-person team with an Analyst to manage a portfolio of automotive dealership relationships. As the face of the Bank to your clients and prospects in the designated coverage region, you will establish yourself as a trusted business advisor who is sought after for guidance regarding matters relating to the credit facilities that are supporting the client's business strategy. You will also add value by identifying opportunities and opening doors that will enhance the scope of the overall banking relationship.
To that end, the position develops and executes a relationship strategy for each client and prospect, identifying the key issues surrounding the relationship and implement a strategy to facilitate the expansion of our partnership with the business. You'll also broaden your sphere of influence by developing relationships with external industry contacts to generate new business opportunities through referrals as well as implementing a targeted calling program.
Acquiring new relationships and loan volumes by obtaining referrals from internal and external sources and by conducting a targeted calling program is your major job accountability. You feel comfortable in a team-based business environment where you balance sales, credit risk, cross selling other banking products, servicing clients and sending referrals to Business Partners.
Job Requirements
Successful Relationship Managers (RM) have the proven ability to continually generate new business and grow an existing portfolio of automotive dealership clients. An RM must be comfortable executing an independent marketing plan that includes considerable portions of time being devoted to a calling program and developing self-generated leads. In addition, in order for the RM to identify quality business opportunities they must have experience analyzing and structuring commercial credit deals.
In addition to your undergraduate/graduate degree in business or relevant professional designation, you ideally have 2-3 years of experience as a commercial credit analyst, Account Manager or Relationship Manager in a business or banking environment. You have well developed analytical and relationship management skills and look forward to developing them further in this role.
You will report to the Regional Market Lead (in Toronto, Calgary, or Montreal/Brossard) but may be located in the coverage region for this specific role within one of the Commercial Banking Centres located throughout the country. You may also opt to work from a home office if you reside within the coverage region for this role.
