Pooling Posting
Nova Scotia Health Authority is currently recruiting permanent full-time Primary Health Care Nurse Practitioners across the province. Candidates may be considered for current and future vacancies, to be posted and filled in accordance with the respective collective agreements. You will be asked on the application form to specify your geographic area of interest.
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Health Services Manager of Primary Health Care, the Nurse Practitioner (NP) provides comprehensive and coordinated care to patients as a member of an interprofessional/collaborative primary care team. The NP partners with and complements other members of the health care team for the achievement of person and family centred care, assessment, diagnosis, treatment, monitoring and evaluation of patient health and treatment outcomes, screening and health promotion, early detection of illness and disease, chronic disease management, continuity and coordination of care and enhanced access to programs, services and community resources. The NP is expected to add 800 patients to the capacity of the team.
Qualifications
  • Masters of Nursing - Advanced Nursing Practice stream or equivalent nurse practitioner program
  • Current registration as a Nurse Practitioner - Family/ All Ages, and in good standing with College of Registered Nurses of Nova Scotia (CRNNS), or eligible
  • Recent experience working in a Nurse Practitioner role with family of all ages preferred

Salary Information
Nova Scotia Health Authority offers a competative salary and comprehensive benefits package.
Successful candidates may be eligible for a signing bonus and/or relocation assistance based on the needs and resources of the home unit and qualifying criteria, conditional upon the signing of a Return for Service Agreement.
