What you can expect in a typical day:
Perform initial evaluation of inspection data and provides recommendations under the guidance of the Area Inspector and Inspection Lead. Conduct and manage all inspection activities for assigned area of responsibility as identified by the area inspector. Ensure that all asset integrity processes and procedures are maintained and followed. Responsible for analysis of corrosion rates, remaining life and inspection data. Inspection of all types of fixed equipment and piping. Reviews the Company and Departmental Inspection procedures and audits the standards and procedures to ensure they are implemented. Monitors the performance of direct reports which include contract inspectors for routine maintenance and turnaround Quality Control. Provide inspection coverage for Major and Maintenance projects. Evaluation of data involving the use of corrosion rates, remaining life, level 1 fitness for service and RBI. Perform documented audits in accordance with the IOR Quality Manual and audit schedule, such as warehouse receiving, purchasing, fabrication shops, etc. Cover as Area Inspector when required. Maintain reporting and record keeping to department policy and standards. Responsible for maintaining their personal status for Refinery orientation and respirator fit testing. Assures report recommendations are entered the Meridium Asset History data base. Assist with determining budget requirements and coverage on minor projects Inspection Programs.

Education and experience
  • Technical competency as demonstrated by qualifications and certifications, or education in applicable areas of expertise
  • API certifications i.e. 570, 571, 510 or 653, NDE certifications
  • Strong knowledge of all types of fixed equipment, piping and associated inspection damage mechanisms
  • Strong knowledge of Company Standards, Industry Recommended Practices, Codes and Standards and specific computer applications
  • Development of Inspection Plans
  • Project budget management experience
