HOURS OF WORK: Rotating Days, Weekends, Statutory Holidays, Standby and Call Back, TEMP: May 31, 2019 to June 30, 2021, Subject to change due to operational requirements
SALARY: $31.23 to $39.57 per hour (Subject to employment status)
JOB PURPOSE:
  • To provide in-depth nursing care to patients undergoing IR procedures - monitor and assist. Administer conscious sedation when required and monitor these patients during the examination, as required.
  • Provide assistance to the anesthetist when a patient must receive general anesthetic for IR procedures.
  • To assist in the development and implementation of objectives, policies, procedures and standards of care pertaining to Medical Imaging services.
  • Assist the Interventional Radiologist in the care of patients undergoing specialized procedures.
  • Monitor the patients' responses to procedures, and react accordingly

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Active registration with the New Brunswick Association of Registered Nurses
  • Previous IR experience an asset
  • At least three year's experience in Adult acute cardiac and vascular management of critically adult ill patients, one of which must be within the last year
  • Current certification in ACLS, Hemodynamics or willing to obtain such within 3 months of commencement of job.
  • All recerts are up to date
  • Ability to perform the duties of the position with no impediment to working wearing a lead apron for prolonged periods of time
  • Completion of Basic Cardiac Monitor Interpretation (BCMI); Challenge tests can be set-up on request.
  • Must be willing to incur overtime as required for completion of a late-running cases
  • Ability to attend work on a regular basis.
  • Ability to perform the duties of the position.
  • Good work record.
  • Written and spoken competence in English and spoken competence in French are required. (Intermediate Plus)
