Desktop Support Technician

O'Regan's Automotive Group is currently seeking a qualified Desktop Support Technician to provide in person and via telephone technical assistance to our employee base in locations throughout Halifax, Dartmouth and Bridgewater. You will respond to assigned tickets in a timely fashion based on priority to ensure user productivity is maximized.

  • Address tickets assigned in the KACE ticketing system regarding desktops, printers, point-of-sale terminals and proprietary auto manufacturer systems
  • Diagnose issues using knowledge, research and troubleshooting skills
  • Record in detail technical issues and solutions in the ticketing system
  • Direct unresolved issues to the next level of support personnel and 3rd party providers
  • Follow up with clients to ensure satisfaction
  • Meet with new employees to perform initial profile setup and answer questions
  • Maintain a desktop image portfolio using KACE
  • Image and deploy Dell desktop computers
  • Perform routine maintenance on hardware assets
  • Perform regular software updates


  • Completion of a post-secondary program in a related field
  • Hands-on experience with desktop hardware andWindows operating systems
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP, MS Office, Office 365, andantivirus software
  • Ability to perform remote troubleshooting and provide clear instructions
  • Excellent problem-solving and multitasking skills
  • Customer service oriented
  • Valid driver's license and ability to work at various locations on a daily basis
  • Ability to work independently and in a team setting
