Ottawa
WSP is currently seeking an Intermediate Mechanical Engineer to join our Mechanical & Electrical team , located at our Ottawa office. Reporting to the Manager, Mechanical.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Design of Material Handling systems;
  • Design of HVAC systems;
  • Design of specialized piping systems;
  • Perform engineering calculations;
  • Coordination with various departments and disciplines required for project implementation;
  • Field reviews;
  • Write and review technical reports, and construction specifications;
  • Cost Estimating review and assistance;
  • Travel to various client sites, attend project meetings and conduct field reviews;
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Mechanical Engineering Degree from an accredited institution;
  • Be fluent in the English language with excellent verbal and written communication skills with a working knowledge of the Microsoft suite of programs,
  • 7-10 years' experience in mechanical design;
  • Focus on material handling, HVAC, and pipe engineering design;
  • Knowledge of CEMA standards, Building Codes, CSA standards, and ASHRAE standards;
  • Be a licensed Professional Engineer in Ontario;
  • Ability to work and complete tasks independently, make decisions and take responsibility on technical matters;
  • Must possess a team player attitude
