WSP is currently seeking a Geospatial Lead to join our Geomatics team in one of our offices in the Greater Toronto Area. Reporting to the Director, Geospatial & Advanced Technologies you will direct a team of geospatial professionals to support the business demands for the Eastern region, lead and grow sales for our Geospatial group and work towards the professional growth and advancement of all members.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manage and oversees GIS and Application Development.
  • Identifies new business opportunities to support the advancement of the group
  • Work with other WSP business lines to cross sell suite of services
  • Present new products and services and enhance existing relationships;
  • Assist the Director, Geospatial & Advanced Technologies with business development, client management and preparation of proposals.
  • Work with technical staff and other internal colleagues to meet customer needs
  • Present business development training and mentoring to business developers and other members
  • Review pricing strategies and evaluate existing agreements with subcontractors and vendors
  • Review of equipment inventory, evaluate new technology and equipment to support capital expenditures.
  • Support project scoping, execution strategy and quality reviews
  • Responsible for overall group and individual staff utilization performance with effective workload distribution.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in GIS, Geography, Earth Science, Engineering, Computer Science or related field from an accredited college or university

  • 5 to 10 years of experience in of GIS and Application Development
  • Strong Knowledge of survey data acquisition, processing and reporting software.
  • Demonstrated high standards for cartographic design
  • Experience interacting and communicating effectively with field crews and client Liaison.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines.
  • Ability to work effectively and competently with people at all levels in the organization; is an effective team member.
  • Ability to work without supervision; effective time management and strong organizational skills.
  • Contribute on an on-going basis toward maintaining a safe working environment both for yourself and for those working with you or in your close vicinity.
  • Ability to work to deadlines and see tasks through to completion.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Adaptable and able to think outside the box.
  • Travel as required within Canada.
