As the HVAC Technician, you will be responsible for the operational oversight of over 20 properties located throughout the South End of Halifax with a focus on ensuring safety, maintenance and customer service is kept to the highest standards. Working with the Resident Managers and Maintenance Technicians you'll provide the technical expertise to the HVAC, boiler and other mechanical systems throughout the properties. This includes a pro-active approach to repairs and preventative maintenance, performing inspections and testing on required systems, sensor and equipment, as well as scheduling and overseeing contractors working on site. You'll also be responsible for monitoring and adjusting building automation controls as needed.
As the ideal candidate you have a minimum of 5 years experience overseeing HVAC and mechanical systems operations or facility and asset maintenance in Real Estate, Construction or Manufacturing industries. A certification in Building Controls, Stationary Engineering, or Refrigeration and formal training in the technical trades would be considered an asset. Along with proven experience overseeing contractor activities related to equipment repair and maintenance, you have demonstrated your ability to ensure preventative and corrective maintenance plans and programs are followed. You have knowledge of and experience with different automated building management systems and you are the type of person who takes initiative and is proud of the work you do to ensure tenants have the best experience possible. Above all else, you stay calm in high pressure situations and can creatively solve problems.
