BMR Structural Engineering is an established firm of consulting structural engineers based in Halifax Nova Scotia and for over 50 years has played a leading role in shaping the skyline of Atlantic Canada. BMR has been involved in notable projects in Atlantic Canada including the Nova Centre in downtown Halifax, the Canada Games Centre, the Avenir Centre, Casino Nova Scotia, the new hockey rink for Saint Mary's University, Purdy's Wharf Towers, NSCC's Waterfront Campus in Dartmouth, and the Colchester East Hants Regional Hospital in Truro to name a few. On behalf of BMR, we are seeking an Intermediate Structural Engineer to join their team.

As an Intermediate Structural Engineer, you will be responsible for structural design, analysis, detailing, and troubleshooting for the diverse range of buildings that BMR works on in Atlantic Canada. Your in-depth knowledge of current design codes and regulatory requirements will help you to prepare technical reports, assessments, and project specifications. Your eye for detail will prove useful in the review of technical submissions from external suppliers and contractors for compliance with contract documents. In addition, your professionalism and positive attitude will be useful in coordinating and collaborating effectively between other project stakeholders and when representing BMR to clients and contractors.

As the ideal candidate, you have a Civil/Structural Engineering Degree and eligibility to register as a professional engineer in the Province of Nova Scotia. You have 5+ years of demonstrated experience in reinforced concrete and structural steel design. Known for your natural interpersonal and communication skills, you easily build collaborative working relationships across an organization and with external partners. Familiarity with building science principles, cladding, or restoration would be considered an asset as would a master's degree and experience with RISA software.
