The Department of Transportation and Infrastructure is seeking an individual to join the Vehicle Management Agency as a Mechanic Supervisor working in the St. George Garage.

As a member of the Vehicle Management Agency, the successful candidate will be a supervisor and will coordinate the work of skilled mechanics, welders and other employees as assigned. The successful candidate will also be responsible for the planning, administration, scheduling, distributing and monitoring of the work activities to ensure compliance with all departmental policies and procedures, maintenance of assets, monitor shop budget and public relations.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: Possession of Journeyperson's Certificates in the Automotive Service Technician Trade (AST) and a Truck and Transport Trades (T & T) as issued by the Province of New Brunswick, and five (5) years of recent experience in the mechanical trade including a minimum of one (1) year of supervisory experience. Possession of a valid New Brunswick class 5 driver's license.

Written and spoken competence in English is required. Please state your language capability.

ASSET QUALIFICATION: Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

The following operational requirements may also be required: working on weekends, travel and variable hours.

SALARY: $27.20 per hour.
