Our client, a well-established food manufacturing organization with an international reach, located in South Eastern New Brunswick, is seeking an experienced Health and Safety Manager to join their team.
In this role, you will provide functional leadership in the development, maintenance and coordination of the plant health and safety program. You will have the ongoing responsibility to assess plant safety, track employee training, and where appropriate, develop and implement plans to improve safety performance. You will work with a number of stakeholders, and as the Chair of the safety committee, in coordinating all plant health and safety program activities and working to create a '0 lost time' environment.. You will also assist with the Claims Management Program and the Return to Work Program.
As the ideal candidate, you have post secondary education in Occupational Health & Safety or a related discipline in addition to 8 years of experience managing a health and safety system. A Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety or your Canadian Registered Safety Professional designation would be preferred as would your experience with confined space and lock-out/tag-out. Your extensive working knowledge of occupational health and safety legislation and its application in a manufacturing setting will help you to create training materials and role programs out in a way that gains buy-in from staff at all levels of the organization. As a well organized, detail-oriented, self starter, you are passionate about working with staff to create a culture of safety. Experience in food manufacturing would be considered an asset.
