Our client, a well-established food manufacturing organization with an international reach, located in South Eastern New Brunswick about 45 minutes away from Saint John, is seeking an experienced Operations Lead to join their team.
In this role, you will be responsible for managing the sourcing and installation of new PLC equipment to advance the processing capability of your area of the plant. You will keep your production area in good operational order and continually look for opportunities to expand or improve upon current business and technologies. Through collaboration with customers you will develop and maintain the market by researching new opportunities and expand on current customer requirements. Your project management and leadership skills will help you to engage staff in the integration of new equipment and the optimization of its use, ultimately leading to an increase in the efficiency of the manufacturing process. You will also manage production staff in your department and be responsible for their performance and training.
As the ideal candidate, you are an Engineer with knowledge of the food processing industry (other types of manufacturing will also be accepted) and demonstrated people leadership experience. Your familiarity with new technology and PLC equipment will help you to identify opportunities to automate processes within your department. You possess a natural ability to work closely with other internal departments, build long-term relationships and create operational efficiencies. With finely tuned business acumen, you have experience negotiating agreements and contracts and demonstrated your leadership and project management capability. With strong interpersonal and people management skills, you are innovative, strategic and results-driven.
