Legal Assistant - Wills & Estates


We are currently seeking a Legal Assistant for a reputable law firm, located downtown Toronto. This is a full-time permanent opportunity, with a competitive salary, benefits and vacation.
As a Legal Assistant, you will be responsible for providing high-level administrative support a Senior Partner and a Law Clerk.
Responsibilities:
  • Manage the daily operation of a busy Senior Partner and a Law Clerk within the Wills & Estates department
  • Review and finalize estate planning documents including Wills, Powers of Attorney, Trusts and reporting documentation
  • Manage a large voume of emails
  • Communicate professionally with all internal and external clients
  • Minute book and general filing;
  • Help organize client meetings and events
  • Extensive calendar managing
  • Preparation of standard correspondence, including reporting letters, as required, using established precedents;
  • All other necessary administrative tasks, including opening & closing files, expenses, billing etc

Requirements:
  • Minimum 2 years legal experience in Wills & Estates
  • A Law Clerk or Legal Assistant Diploma from an accredited institution or equivalent experience
  • Strong technical skills using: MS Word, Outlook, Acumen, CorpLink, Adobe & PowerPoint;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Flexible, team player that is client service oriented
  • Highly organized with excellent attention to detail and the ability to prioritize
