  • Assist the Party Chief in any and all aspects of field work including: operations of survey equipment, and vehicles
  • Organize and maintain survey equipment and vehicle
  • Actively participate in and proactively support the advancement of the WSP safety program
  • Other duties as assigned/required.

  • Manage and perform field survey work with the help of Survey Assistants
  • Liaise with Project Managers to coordinate field survey work, to review and manage project budgets, timeline requirements, priorities and survey methodology
  • Act as a company representative, liaising directly with client field representatives and land owners
  • Prepare and communicate field notes, sketches, checklists and digital data in required formats for Project Managers, Land Surveyors and Drafting personnel
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to Survey Assistants working with you
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of industry best practices, more efficient field processes and procedures and the innovative use of new technology
  • Actively participate in and proactively support the advancement of the WSP safety program
  • Some office technical survey work may be required in this position
  • Other duties as assigned/required.

  • Perform survey calculations of surveys using both GPS and conventional survey methods
  • Process survey data and monitors procedures used by field crews to collect survey data
  • Survey calculation for piles, anchor bolts, foundation, grading based on client supplied IFC drawings for survey layout
  • Create alignment, corridor as per client supplied IFC drawings
  • Earthwork volume calculations as per survey data and grading plan
  • Preparation of files for field layout including CSV, RXL, DXF, TTM.
  • Use standard survey practices efficiently to draft accurate survey plans from information gathered in the field and office
  • Draft plans using the standards set out by WSP using current lisp routines and blocks
  • Redline as built drawings
  • Prepare reports as per scope of work e.g. Layout, pre-pour and as-built reports
  • Maintain familiarity with current techniques and developments;
  • Ensure that the quality and accuracy of all plans for which you have responsibility meet the WSP standards before they are delivered for checking
  • Able to work with Survey Field Supervisors and establish priorities and complete work duties with limited supervision.
