Position Details


The Department of Finance is responsible for supporting Government in the development of fiscal, financial, statistical and economic policy. These responsibilities are primarily achieved by providing timely analysis and advice to government departments and agencies; Cabinet; and the Committees of Cabinet, particularly Treasury Board for which the Minister of Finance serves as President. The Department is also responsible for providing government-wide comptrollership oversight to ensure the appropriate use of public funds.


Reporting to the Supervisors of Accounts Payable Processing, the Clerk III will be responsible for a variety of accounts payable processing activities. Specifically, the incumbent will perform data entry into the Oracle Accounts Payable module in a timely and accurate manner. Duties performed will include quality assurance checks on data entry, compliance with related policies and procedures and review of data entry outputs. As part of the quality control function, the incumbent will also be responsible to confirm, log and circulate rejected documents for correction. The Accounts Payable Processing Clerk will also ensure confidentiality and security of information contained within the Division and may perform other data entry related duties as required.

Merit Criteria

Screening Criteria

  1. Diploma in Business Administration (equivalencies will be considered)
  2. Experience with accounts payable practices
  3. Experience with financial management applications
  4. Pass OPAC Data Entry (Invoice) testing with minimum 5200 net kph (keystrokes per hour) with 95% accuracy
