Lead Generation & Market Analyst (Term), Science, Information Technology, Engineering Co-operative Education, ADM5

The Science, Information Technology, Engineering (SITE) Co-operative Education program at Dalhousie University is responsible for securing and managing quality work term opportunities for more than 1,350 students annually in 23 co-op programs across three faculties. Reporting to the Employer Development Manager, the Lead Generation and Market Analyst is a sales and intelligence-gathering role that will perform both market analysis and tele-prospecting functions as part of the Employer Development Team's strategy to increase new employer development. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct market research and analysis, evaluate current job market trends, and identify opportunities and prospective organizations.
  • Keep the team up to date on market analysis and opportunities.
  • Identify and connect with key decision makers and influencers at prospective co-op employers in various industrial markets across Canada and internationally via phone, email, LinkedIn, etc.
  • Explore with decision makers their business/customer needs and deliver customized and appropriate value proposals regarding the SITE program.
  • Qualify the lead, determining whether the prospect is a good fit to provide high quality and valuable co-op employment opportunities for SITE student participants. 
  • Document call results in the system of record and initiate hand-off of the qualified lead to the team.

Qualifications: Undergraduate degree in SITE co-op related discipline (Science, Computer Science or Engineering), Business Administration, or other relevant field plus approximately 3-5 years related experience in business development, sales and/or market analysis (or an equivalent combination of training and experience). Capable of working independently within a cohesive team, the successful candidate will be self-motivated, analytical and capable of managing multiple priorities within established objectives and timeframes. In addition to excellent written and verbal communication skills, must be able to engage in professional, articulate telephone conversations. Must have strong internet research skills, and be proficient in MS Office and digitally savvy. Demonstrated solid judgment and decision-making skills are required.

Salary Range: $50,240 - $67,973 per annum (ADM-05) This is an approximately one (1) year term position.

This is a provisional classification. Formal classification procedures will be initiated by the Compensation & Job Evaluation Unit in approximately six months.
