On behalf of our client, we are currently recruiting for a Design Specialist to join their team of dedicated professionals in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
Reporting to the Team Lead, Marketing, the Design Specialist acts as the brand steward and is responsible for the overall integration of the brand across all customer touchpoints, including design of marketing campaigns, materials and in-store design for the NSLC. This position develops and executes strategic campaigns to support business objectives. The Design Specialist will work in a team environment, both with internal business units and external partners and suppliers, to ensure that all marketing campaigns are on time, on strategy and on brand. Development of strategic creative concepts for marketing, events, category initiatives and promotional period activity in a retail environment is a key responsibility. The Design Specialist will maintain, develop all brand, marketing and signage guidelines as a brand steward, as well as collaborating with store development internal and external partners to ensure integrity of NSLC standards in store design.
As the ideal candidate, you possess five to seven years' experience in a design capacity within an advertising or marketing agency. Experience working as an in-house creative lead or designer for a large retailer or architectural firm is considered an asset. Copywriting, digital design, and photography experience is essential for this role. Exceptional knowledge of art direction, marketing and design practices as well as sound knowledge of marketing principles and best practices will be needed to translate strategic business objectives into impactful creative communication and messaging. Strong computer literacy including proficiency with Photoshop CC; Illustrator CC; InDesign CC; Bridge CC; Flash Pro; Acrobat Pro; HTML/CSS and Microsoft Office supports the creative flair that you bring to each of your projects. You are results-orientated with strong production, communication and organization skills that support your ability to multi-task and manage your time effectively during high pressure situations. Staying up to date with current advertising innovations, you have a clear passion for and take pride in your work. An undergraduate Bachelor's degree in Design is preferred, although equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
