Communications Specialist - Temporary
The Registered Nurses' Union Newfoundland & Labrador (RNU) is seeking a dynamic communications professional to fill the position of Communications Specialist for a one-year leave of absence. The successful candidate will report directly to the Executive Director and President.
The Communications Specialist will be responsible for planning and implementing RNU's communication strategy, encompassing both internal and external communications needs. This will include development of publications and content creation and execution of social media and union websites, as well as media relations, issues management, and government relations. You will also engage in strategic planning in consultation with union leadership and external public relations support.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years relevant communications experience and a degree in public relations/communications or equivalent education. Experience in unionized and/or health care environments is an asset. The candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with solid organizational and time management capabilities. The Communications Specialist is a bargaining unit position with an annual starting salary of $85,010.
