Communications Officer – Events Planner

WorkSafeNB is accepting applications for a 12 month contract position of communications officer - events planner in Saint John, New Brunswick.
The communications officer - events planner is responsible for co-ordinating activities related to special events and conferences. These activities include, but are not limited to: developing a detailed timeline; creating a marketing strategy and promotional pieces; liaising with graphic designers, printers, and service providers; proof-reading and editing event publications and collateral materials for content, layout and accuracy; liaising with translators to provide the content in both official languages; liaising with event committees; confirming needs of speakers and moderators; collaborating with conference registration committee, and advising on other aspects of the conference.
The candidate should have:
- A university degree in a related field
- Three years of relevant experience dealing with third party suppliers and managing projects over time
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. The candidate must be able to work effectively in a team, and be able to take initiative, work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Competence in Microsoft Office is essential.
Written and spoken competence in English and French is required.
