As a Supervisor, Operations Relief, you will supervise the mail delivery and mail processing operations within a Local Area, including the activities of Delivery Agents (Letter Carriers), Rural and Suburban Mail Carriers (RSMCs) and Combined Urban Services (CUS) assigned to deliver the mail, as well as the efficient manual processing of mail on your assigned shift. You will also act as the "voice of the company", regularly sharing performance expectations, business updates and results with team members.
While these are 6-month temporary assignments, on a full-time basis (i.e. 40 hours per week), they offer the possibility of an extension and permanent employment opportunities. There are various shifts - midnights, evenings and days.
An Eligibility List (valid for a period of 1 year) will be created to fill future job opportunities.
You bring a successful track record to the role of Operations Relief Supervisor:
- A high school diploma or provincial equivalent (GED); equivalent work experience, as defined below, may be accepted in lieu of a high school diploma.
- At least one (1) year of experience managing a team OR at least two (2) years' experience working within a unionized environment.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (i.e., understand the major features of each software application).
- Proficiency in English.
- Post-secondary diploma or degree, an asset.
