Chief Financial Officer
WorkSafeNB is a Crown corporation committed to promoting healthy and safe workplaces for New Brunswick's workers and employers. While the priority is preventing workplace injuries and occupational disease, WorkSafeNB provides comprehensive rehabilitation and return to work services in addition to fair compensation benefits when injuries do occur. We are seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to provide the guidance, leadership, and sound financial advice necessary to maintain WorkSafeNB's culture of client focused service, adaptability, collaboration and accountability.
Reporting the President & Chief Executive Officer and as a member of the Executive Leadership Team, the CFO contributes to the overall strategic direction of WorkSafeNB by leading change and providing strategic financial advice and support to the Board of Directors, the CEO, and the Executive Leadership Team to inform decisions about how the organization will sustainably create value and nurture innovation for its stakeholders.
WorkSafe NB is going through an exciting period of transformation, as part of this change the CFO will lead the establishment of a financial shared services operation. The CFO provides executive leadership and fosters the learning and development of the departments of the Controller, Treasury, Purchasing, Fiscal and Economic Planning, Assessment Services, and Facilities Management to ensure that all WorkSafeNB financial reporting, financial transactions, actuarial management, financial analysis, accounting, cash flow, investment strategy, procurement and facilities management services drive the organization to achieve its strategic objectives and are delivered in accordance with expectations and established standards for service, innovation, quality, and legislative/regulatory compliance.
The ideal candidate has a professional accounting designation and a post-secondary degree, combined with senior financial leadership experience, preferably within a large and/or complex organization. You have a strong analytic skills and in-depth understanding of current GAAP principals, along with understanding of best practices in the fields of insurance (disability insurance preferred), actuarial science, procurement, accounting, financial shared services, investment management of funds, facilities management. You have demonstrated executive leadership skills, emotional intelligence, self-awareness and can foster a culture of communication amongst the organization. As the CFO, you will thrive on overcoming challenges and driving for desired outcomes. You can provide a vision and alignment of services and maintain a strong commitment to WorkSafe NB's values and mission. A strong understanding of the regulatory and legislative environment of a crown corporation and fluency in both official languages are assets.
