Reporting to the VP Finance & Business Development, the position of Comptroller is responsible for managing the organization's overall financial policies and activities. The Comptroller provides advice/recommendations to management personnel, and the Belledune Port Authority Board of directors on all financial activities. The scope of the role includes accounting, payroll, budgeting, forecasting, audits, leases, and management information systems.
The Authority is seeking a candidate with successful completion of a post-secondary education preferably in Accounting with his/her CPA designation, with a minimum of four years' experience, including staff supervision. Superior oral and written communication skills, and strong analytical abilities, along with demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office products and Sage Accounting software; are a requirement. Being proficient in both official languages would be an asset. The candidate must be self-motivated and able to work with a small team of professionals, in a proactive, ever changing port environment.
