WSP is currently seeking a Mechanical Plumbing Designer to join our Buildings - Mechanical department, located at our Vancouver, BC office. Reporting to the Manager, Mechanical Engineering, this position will be responsible for plumbing design of a variety of institutional, light industrial, commercial, health care and recreational buildings.

  • Provide technical assistance to the design team and Project Managers
  • Provide design, calculations, and technical support for the layout and specification of plumbing systems for building projects.
  • Ability to guide junior plumbing designers
  • Drafting of plumbing systems in 2D and 3D environments
  • On site mechanical investigations, audits, and reviews as required
  • Writing technical and field investigation reports
  • Attendance at project meeting with clients
  • Other duties as assigned/required.

  • Diploma from a Technical University or College in Mechanical Technology
  • 3+ years of relevant design experience in plumbing systems design
  • Proven expertise using AutoCAD 2010 and knowledge of 3D design/drafting
  • Self-motivated with strong verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively when managing multiple tasks
  • Ability to work independently and in a multi-disciplinary team environment
  • Reputation for meeting or exceeding expectations
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office
  • Ability in coaching and teaching
  • A "can do" attitude, able to work in a team environment
  • Experience with REVIT would be considered an asset
