The New Brunswick Legal Aid Services Commission (NBLASC) is seeking 1 lawyer for the Fredericton regional office (Family/Public Trustee), and 1 lawyer for the Woodstock Regional Office (Family).
Reporting to the Public Trustee/Director of Family Law Services, the successful candidates will deliver professional lawyer services. Duties may include but are not limited to: preparing legal advice/documents in respect of custody, access, restraining orders; determination of spousal support; determination/variation of child support; child security matters; and Public Trustee matters ( including applications under the Infirm Persons' Act and Probate Court Act). Tasks may include but are not limited to: preparation of affidavits and briefs; interview witnesses; meet with clients, attend court; research points of law; maintain good working relationships with members of the justice system, and other duties as assigned.
The successful candidates must be familiar with the Federal and Provincial legislation regarding NBLASC family and Public Trustee law services, such as the Legal Aid Act, Family Services Act, Interjurisdictional Support Orders Act, Public Trustee Act, Probate Court Act, Infirm Persons' Act, Devolution of Estates Act, and the Rules of Court of New Brunswick.
- Bachelor of Law Degree;
- Membership in good standing with the Law Society of New Brunswick;
- Completion of Articling;
- Written and spoken competence in English (please state your language capacity).
Candidates with less than 5.5 years of membership at the bar will typically be considered as Lawyer level I. Candidates with more than 5.5 years, but less than 10 years of membership at the bar will typically be considered as Lawyer level II.
An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.

Salary and benefits will be commensurate with skill level and experience:
- NBLASC Lawyer Series pay plan Level I-II
- $1,747 - $3,660 biweekly.
