Communications Advisor

Develop Nova Scotia (formerly Waterfront Development) is the crown corporation responsible for leading sustainable development of high potential property and infrastructure across Nova Scotia to drive inclusive economic growth in our province. As Waterfront Development, their mandate was to redevelop and revitalize lands surrounding Halifax Harbour and other lands, including the Lunenburg waterfront. On behalf of our client, we are currently recruiting for a Communications Advisor to join their team of dedicated professionals in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Reporting to the Director, Marketing & Communications, the Communications Advisor will develop communications materials based on provided communications plans, as well as manage recurring communications channels. The Communications Advisor will assist in development of speeches and presentations and assist in market research projects. The successful candidate will be responsible to generate content for web, social media, stakeholder reports, public updates and other communications tools, as required. The Communications Advisor will also help manage rural Internet stakeholder relations and engagement activities, respond to all rural Internet inquiries, providing triage if necessary, as well as providing issues management assistance when needed.

As the ideal candidate, you are a strong communications professional possessing a minimum of three years experience in a related communications, public relations or marketing role. Exceptional writing capability is essential - you are a true story-teller. With robust communication skills, you possess strong business acumen and are highly analytical by nature. Telecommunications, Internet or Cable-related communications experience would be an asset. A university degree in business, communications, marketing or related field is required.
