Develop Nova Scotia (formerly Waterfront Development) is the crown corporation responsible for leading sustainable development of high potential property and infrastructure across Nova Scotia to drive inclusive economic growth in our province. As Waterfront Development, their mandate was to redevelop and revitalize lands surrounding Halifax Harbour and other lands, including the Lunenburg waterfront. Now, as Develop Nova Scotia, their mission is to support the creation of sustainable places right across Nova Scotia that attract and inspire people and investment.

On behalf of our client, we are currently recruiting for a Manager, Marketing & Events to join their team of dedicated professionals in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Reporting to the Director, Marketing & Communications, the Manager, Marketing & Events will shape and manage the Develop Nova Scotia brand; developing and executing marketing strategies corporately and for all business lines including the organization's collateral, signage, advertising, campaigns, clothing, etc. The successful candidate will be responsible to develop the strategic social media strategy, manage calendar and content generation and utilize analytics and other tools to grow Develop Nova Scotia's reach. This individual will be the main agency point of contact and will lead brand roll-out, with support from agency. The Manager, Marketing & Events will develop the events strategy, then identify, negotiate, leverage and activate all sponsorships. The successful candidate will also be responsible to develop the annual tenant marketing plan in alignment with the corporate marketing plan, including management of the Tenant Marketing Fund. The Manager, Marketing & Events will also influence, and at times lead, market research activities and programs.

As the ideal candidate, you are an ultra-creative and strategic marketing professional. You see the big picture but can manage the finest detail through execution. You are a compelling story teller, inspiring strong and meaningful connections with people through your work. Ideally, you possess five to seven years marketing experience, including responsibility for brand building and execution. Experience in place marketing considered an asset. Experience managing outside agencies or contracts is essential. You have strong business acumen and can translate market research into actionable plans and activate partnerships to drive results. An eye for design is a plus. A university degree in marketing, communications or public relations related field is required.
