Manager, Finance - Operations (03-1951)

The Manager, Finance - Operations is an integral member of the Finance team supporting development of enterprise plans and business decision making. This role manages a team of finance professionals responsible for end-to-end financial oversight of accounts payable, treasury, tax, payroll, and operating expenses. The manager is also responsible to ensure continued systems and process optimization, employee coaching and development, and demonstrated value delivered to the business.

Responsibilities

Financial Statement Preparation - oversee the preparation and delivery of monthly financial statements to ensure complete and accurate transaction processing in accordance with IFRS standards, and presentation of relevant, reliable and meaningful accounting information.

Annual Budget Preparation - collaborate with business units to organize and execute the delivery of the annual corporate budget, ensuring all financial plans reflect current corporate strategic and divisional plans and that associated risks and opportunities are identified.

Standards and Policies Management - establish and maintain appropriate accounting policies to conform to IFRS standards, minimize unnecessary complexity, and benefit financial statement presentation; own and manage applicable business standards to limit financial risk and provide a fair and equitable working environment.

Coaching and Employee Development - achieve optimal team performance by creating a culture of coaching through consistent feedback and mentoring; broaden thinking, identify strengths and development needs, clarify milestones or measures of success, and create accountability for achieving established goals.

Qualifications

  • CPA designation or in the process of completing designation
  • Minimum 5 years' supervisory experience
  • Talent for coaching and developing high-functioning teams
  • Able to translate strategic direction into tactical operational plans
  • Highly effective at communicating, building relationships and influencing others
  • Creative problem-solver with strong critical thinking skills
