The Department of Health is seeking an individual to join the Medicare & Physician Services Branch to fill the position of Program Analyst in Fredericton.

The Program Analyst supports the Medicare & Physician Services Branch by analyzing, monitoring and reporting on various programs, services, and remuneration models. This work supports program planning and decision-making.

This position will lead special projects and initiatives including supporting new program development, making changes to existing programs, and addressing challenging issues.

The Program Analyst will support the Department of Health negotiations with the New Brunswick Medical Society. Responsibilties to include: costing scenarios; analyzing the potential impact of proposals; along with participation in the annual distribution process.

Another important aspect of this position is the development and constant monitoring of the capitation rate paid to physicians remunerated in a blended payment model.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in Business Admnistration, Economics or a relevant discipline with a minimum of five years of related experience. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.

Written and spoken competence in English is required. Please state your language capability.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS: Preference may be given to candidates that demonstrate experience in one or more of the following asset qualifications:

  • Knowledge/experience in healthcare
  • Knowledge of Health Information Privacy & Access legislation
  • Knowledge/experience with Medicare and Physician renumeration
  • Expertise with Microsoft Excel

Salary: $55,120 to $77,012 per annum
