The Department of Transportation and Infrastructure is seeking individuals to join the Moncton District as a Highway Supervisor I-II working in the following divisions: Petitcodiac, Bouctouche and Acadieville/Harcourt.

As a member of the Moncton District, the successful candidates will be responsible for the supervision of the division crews, maintaining public relations with the community, overseeing operation and maintenance of equipment, providing effective winter maintenance of highways in accordance with the Department of Transportation and Infrastructure's policies and guidelines.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Highway Supervisor II: Diploma from a recognized two (2) year civil engineering technology program in a related field and a minimum of three (3) years of winter maintenance or winter and summer maintenance work experience which includes one (1) year of supervisory experience OR high school graduation of GED and six (6) years of winter maintenance or winter and summer maintenance work experience which includes (1) year of supervisory experience. A working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, as well as possession of a valid New Brunswick Class 5 driver's license is also required.

If there are no applicants with the above essential qualifications, we may consider applicants with the following qualifications and appoint at a lower classification.

Highway Supervisor I: Diploma from a recognized two (2) year civil engineering technology program in a related field and one (1) year of related work experience which includes one (1) year of supervisory experience OR high school graduation or GED and four (4) years of winter maintenance work or winter and summer maintenance work experience which includes one (1) year of supervisory experience. Petitcodiac Division - Written and spoken in English is required.
Bouctouche Division - Written and spoken in English and French are required.
Acadieville/Harcourt Division - Written and spoken in English is required.

Appointment to this position will be restricted to a local area resident.

ASSET QUALIFICATION: Preference may be given to candidates that demonstrate recent road construction and/or road maintenance experience. Subject to the response to this competition, candidates may be required to demonstrate on their application one or more of the asset qualifications in addition to the essential qualifications in order to be given further consideration.

The following operational requirements are also required: working on weekends, travel, shift work and/or variable hours.

SALARY:

Highway Supervisor II: $1,719.00 to $2,164.00 bi-weekly (based on a 40 hour work week).
Highway Supervisor I: $1,565.00 to $1,964.00 bi-weekly (based on a 40 hour work week).
