WSP is currently seeking a Alberta Land Surveyor to join our Geomatics Group, located at our Edmonton office, reporting to the Geomatics Manager. The successful candidate would be an Alberta Land Surveyor, with excellent communication, organizational, and management skills combined with several years of progressive experience in the provision of geomatics services and the management of geomatics projects for municipal, oil & gas, engineering, transportation or construction applications.

  • Work with other managers to supervise, co-ordinate, schedule and review the activities of field and office staff;
  • Develop strong relationships, manage client expectations and ensure project deliverables, schedules and budget objectives are met;

  • Land Surveying and Project Management knowledge and responsibility
  • Working knowledge of laws, regulations, statutes and technical requirements pertaining to project impacts and Land Surveying services
  • Strong awareness of project budget, scope and primary tasks to maintain project schedules
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively and competently with people at all levels in the organization; is a great team member
  • Ability to work without supervision; effective time management and strong organizational skills
  • Contribute on an on-going basis toward maintaining a safe working environment both for yourself and for those working with you or in your close vicinity
  • Computer literate; proficient in Windows environments; Microsoft Office applications; and Project Management software
  • Good analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Ability and skill to manage competing priorities, risks, and schedules

  • 5+ years professional experience in land surveying at the senior technical or supervisory level.
  • Oversee drafting and plan preparation.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and technical skills.
  • Commitment to promoting strong communication amongst other office locations within WSP.
  • Commitment to outstanding service quality
  • Ensure all EH& S policies and procedures are understood and followed.
  • Positive and professional with all internal and external clients.
