We currently have a full-time opportunity for a Financial Analyst, Accounting Operations & Services to join our National Finance Shared Services department based out of our office in Stellarton, NS.
Job Description
What you'll get to do in this fast paced role:
  • Perform complex analysis in a specific area
  • Provide financial analysis and business decision support to the Finance Director
  • Put forward suggestions to improve functional areas processes
  • Prepare various analytical and ad-hoc reports
  • Provide timely responses to queries and follow up on issues
  • Communicate effectively with functional area managers and employees
  • Perform required administrative tasks which may include running SAP reports, participating in meetings, and responding to phone and e-mail messages
  • Collaboration with other Finance team members
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts and sub-ledgers on an exception basis
  • Adhere to GAAP and CEO/ CFO Certification
  • Develop and manage various reports in various systems including SAP, Khalix, BMR, and BW
  • Preparation of various reporting for distribution to finance and other operational departments as required
  • Analysis of exception reports to resolve discrepancies
  • Coordination and communication of results to management
  • Conduct ad hoc queries and analysis to support other financial analytic teams
  • Support the preparation of budgets

Job Requirements
What your resume will include and demonstrate to us:
  • Relevant post secondary education (Diploma or Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, etc.)
  • 1-3 years relevant experience in Accounting/Finance
  • High intermediate/Expert level Excel skills - compiling and tracking data with the ability to drive insights from data
  • Solid analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to thrive in a deadline driven environment
  • Excellent written and oral interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience in a team driven environment
  • Aptitude for understanding new technologies
  • Proven time management, organization, prioritization, and multi tasking skills
  • Ability to anticipate issues and recommend appropriate actions
  • Independent and self-motivated
  • Lean knowledge or project experience
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a deadline driven environment

  • Knowledge of SAP, Longview/Khalix
