Occupational Therapist

WorkSafeNB is accepting applications for a 1-year contract position of occupational therapist (OT) in Grand Bay-Westfield, New Brunswick.

Reporting to a work recovery manager, the occupational therapist will provide functional assessments and interventions to maximize our clients' ability to return to work. The OT is a member of an interdisciplinary work recovery team.

The OT's duties include providing baseline functional assessments to help develop a treatment plan and providing interventions using functional activities, work related activities, and other appropriate interventions. You may be required to help deliver group/individual education to clients, perform job site visits, and consult on job site modifications and gradual return-to-work programs. You will be required to keep accurate and timely treatment reports and to participate in program activities such as quality assurance, risk management, utilization review, health and safety, and infection control.

The candidate should have:

  • A master's or bachelor's degree in occupational therapy from a recognized university or an equivalent
  • Hold membership (or be eligible for membership) in both the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists and the New Brunswick Association of Occupational Therapists
  • Experience with the MS Office products, particularly Word

Written and spoken competence in English is required.
