Job Description
The Small Commercial Outbound Acquisition Representative position is a centralized inside sales role based in the customer contact center in Saint John, New Brunswick. The primary responsibility of this role is to acquire new Small Commercial accounts within an assigned geography through outbound calling.
  • Develop an understanding of an assigned territory that includes opportunities for growth, product penetration, and threats from competitors and alternative fuels
  • Develop a territory plan to drive achievement of sales goals and objectives
  • Work collaboratively with sales leadership to execute marketing programs that drive achievement of sales targets
  • Work collaboratively with the field commercial account acquisition and management representatives
  • Develop a strong internal referral network that includes drivers, installers, and other Irving professionals
  • Prospect for new customers by utilizing target account lists, customer referrals, internet and cold calls
  • Develop and manage a robust pipeline of sales opportunities (i.e. new account acquisition, and cross/up-sell)
  • Utilization sales activity management system to track prospect management
  • Prepare and report sales performance to sales leadership
  • Participate in sales management meetings
  • Manage the execution of sales opportunities (i.e. new account acquisition, cross/up-sell). Activities include:
    • Identification and qualification of leads and opportunities
    • Conducting sales calls to better understand customers current, & future product needs and solutions
    • Preparing, submitting, and discussing proposals
    • Negotiating contract terms within established guidelines
    • Facilitating credit approval, set up, and activation

  • High school diploma required. University degree or College diploma preferred
  • 1-3 years experience in sales/marketing and customer service required. Experience in a call center environment preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work well within a team environment
  • CRM experience- Salesforce knowledge is an asset.
