Casual Positions

The Department of Tourism, Heritage and Culture is seeking Casual Tourism Counsellors for the following Provincial Visitor Information Centres:

Saint Jacques: 1 position, 15 weeks
Saint Jacques: 1 positions, 19 weeks

As a member of the Visitor Information Centres unit, the successful candidate will be responsible to:

  • Interact with visitors by offering tourism publications, answering travel–related questions and offering directions;
  • Create awareness of tourism product activities with visitors;
  • Assist visitors with itinerary planning and reservations;
  • Conduct data collection;
  • Opening and closing the centre.

Essential Qualifications: High School diploma or GED and a minimum of one (1) year of related work experience in Customer Service.

Working knowledge of Microsoft office products and competency with searching for tourism information online.

Spoken competence in English and French is required. Please state your language capability.

The following operational requirements are also required: working evenings, weekends and holidays.

Salary : $13.74/hour for 40 hours/week
