As an Emergency Mitigation Manager, you'll lead teams through emergency response and restoration projects, ensuring every job runs safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN EMERGENCY MITIGATION MANAGER

As an Emergency Mitigation Manager, you're the go-to expert for all things emergency response. You'll oversee multiple active projects, coordinating crews, subcontractors, and equipment to ensure each job meets scope, schedule, and safety standards. You'll conduct site inspections, manage psychrometric readings, and ensure proper equipment setup for drying and deodorization. You'll mentor and coach technicians, lead safety meetings, and provide clear direction to keep the team focused and effective. Collaboration is key-you'll work closely with Project Managers, adjusters, and clients to solve challenges, update progress, and maintain full transparency. Your leadership ensures every response reflects the company's professionalism, efficiency, and care for the customer.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the restoration or emergency industry, preferably within the Emergency and Contents division
  • Minimum 2 years of leadership experience managing teams, coaching, and developing employees
  • Advanced understanding of water remediation procedures consistent with IICRC S-500 Standards, including psychrometric reporting
  • Strong knowledge of moisture reading instruments, drying sciences, and cleaning agents for various loss types such as sewage or mold
  • Skilled in demolition, tear outs, and safe work practices with the ability to mentor others
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, mobile devices, and relevant applications
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
  • Strong organizational and leadership abilities with a focus on safety, quality, and efficiency
  • College certification in Environmental Studies, Environmental Technician, or related construction or building discipline, an asset
  • IICRC Certifications: Water Remediation Technician (WRT), Applied Structural Drying (ASD), Fire and Smoke Restoration Technician (FSRT), Applied Microbial Remediation Technician (AMRT), and Odor Control Technician (OCT) certifications
  • Forklift certification, an asset
  • Provincial Asbestos certification, preferred
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving abstract
  • Fit test and other safety certifications
  • Includes participation in a rotating on-call schedule
  • Ability to complete work activities that may involve material handling, lifting, climbing, and the use of personal protective equipment including respirators, safety footwear, and other required gear
