We have an immediate opening for an experienced Folder/Gluer Machine Operator to join our production team on the afternoon or night shift. This is a great opportunity to build a long-term career with a growing manufacturing operation, offering competitive benefits and a supportive work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate folder/gluer equipment (Bobst or Brausse) according to customer specifications and SOPs.
- Locate, load, and prepare stock and raw materials for production.
- Perform full machine make-ready including feeder, pre-fold, glue system, final fold, delivery, stacker, and packing areas.
- Maintain optimal machine speed and productivity; identify and adjust for malfunctions quickly to minimize downtime.
- Ensure product quality, accuracy, and timely delivery.
- Manage line integrity to prevent product mix-ups and ensure non-conforming material control.
- Record production data including materials usage, run times, and make-ready durations.
- Transport materials using hand trucks or industrial carts.
- Perform cleaning, organizing, and routine maintenance on machine and work area.
- Add necessary adhesives or materials as required by the job specifications.
- Provide direction to crew members assigned to the machine.
- Assist in training co-workers and contribute technical expertise for new product development.
- Follow all safety, environmental, and operational guidelines.
- Support other related tasks as required by the supervisor or management.
Requirements & Skills
- Previous folder/gluer operating experience preferred (Bobst or Brausse) — or strong willingness and ability to learn.
- Basic computer literacy with strong math skills and attention to detail.
- Mechanically inclined with effective troubleshooting abilities.
- Able to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to high-quality work.
- Strong ability to understand and execute written, verbal, and diagram-based instructions.
- Must have CSA-approved safety shoes.
Physical Requirements
- Regularly lift up to 20 lbs; occasionally up to 50 lbs.
- Continuous standing, walking, bending, and repetitive hand motions.
- Good hand-eye coordination and visual accuracy (with or without corrective lenses).
