Packaging Operator

The Packaging Machine Operator is responsible for operating packing equipment, maintaining a clean and safe packing environment, and ensuring that all products are packed accurately and according to company quality standards. This role plays a critical part in supporting food safety, packaging compliance, and daily operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate packing equipment safely and efficiently; Giro machine experience preferred
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized packing environment
• Ensure that all packed products meet company quality and condition standards before leaving the packing area
• Follow food safety and sanitation protocols at all times
• Assist with tracking and maintaining inventory of packing supplies
• Ensure all labeling and packaging meet compliance and safety standards
• Help create and maintain product traceability numbers
• Support efforts to improve packing techniques and materials
• Report any issues with machines, tools, or materials to the supervisor immediately
• Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of packing tools and machines
• Remain flexible with shifts, tasks, and assignments as needed to support operations
• Work in a cold environment for extended periods
• Perform all tasks in a safe, efficient, and detail-oriented manner
• Assist with other related duties as assigned

Skills & Competencies:

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail and quality control
• Basic math skills for counting and label verification
• Comfortable working in cold and fast-paced environments
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Experience in fresh produce packing is preferred
• Giro machine experience preferred
