Job DescriptionThe House of Commons' Digital Services and Real Property is currently looking to staff the Desktop Consulting and Field Services Supervisor position.
As the Desktop Consulting and Field Services Supervisor, you lead and coordinate IT support services for clients across the Parliament Precinct Network, overseeing, prioritizing and coordinating the setup, maintenance, troubleshooting, and support of both standalone and networked systems, as well as standard software, mobile devices and printing solutions. You'll also respond to recurring issues, help define service agreements and contribute to long-term planning and continuous service improvements.
We're seeking an individual with proven leadership abilities, extensive IT support experience, and a client-centric approach. You are a adaptable problem-solver with excellent communication skills and a strong commitment to professionalism.
Digital Services and Real Property has a requirement of a 24/7 support model and work activities related to this role may require working irregular hours and overtime to meet our operational requirements. As part of this position, you must be willing to work onsite five (5) days a week.

Education :
- Post-secondary education diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Management or a related field OR an acceptable combination of education, training and relevant experience.
Experience :
- A minimum of three (3) years of recent experience supervising a technical team, including workload planning, performance management, and staff development, in a fast-paced IT operational environment;
- Experience in technical domains related to desktop consulting and field services;
- Experience dealing with high profile clients and VIP;
- Experience coordinating activities involving multiple teams or stakeholders.
Assets :
- Experience supervising a unionized team;
- Experience in using service management tools;
- Experience in effective delegation of tasks and following up on outcomes;
- Experience in conflict resolution and team support under pressure.
