As a market-facing leader on the Product team, the Associate Product Manager plays a key role in shaping innovative e-learning solutions for classrooms across Canada. Reporting to the VP, Content & Curriculum, this role is ideal for someone passionate about education and excited to collaborate with a dynamic team.
In partnership with the Program Specialist, the Associate Product Manager will lead the identification, conceptualization, validation, and strategic development of new e-learning resources within the ELA and Social Studies portfolio. This includes participating in project costing, contributing to the instructional design, and sourcing new authors, reviewers, subject matter experts, and thought leaders.
This role requires strong market research skills, both internally and externally, to stay ahead of curriculum changes, pedagogical shifts, and evolving customer needs. The goal is to develop high-impact Edwin e-learning resources that drive growth and customer retention.

Key AccountabilitiesProduct-in-Development Leadership (40%)
- Lead the full product development cycle for digital student learning experiences and teacher instructional resources
- Partner with the Program Specialist to drive product vision, content creation, review, and refinement
- Ensure alignment with strategic priorities and customer needs to improve student engagement and save teachers time
- Define, manage, and prioritize product and user requirements
- Communicate a clear, data-informed product roadmap to internal teams (Leadership, Product, Commercial)
- Design structured and coherent learning pathways that:
- Map topics and sequence lessons
- Define clear learning objectives with progressive complexity
- Ensure alignment with curriculum standards
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely delivery of high-quality, engaging e-learning resources
- Optimize workflows by:
- Leveraging internal AI tools
- Reusing and adapting existing assets
- Applying iterative development strategies to accelerate time-to-market
- Monitor development progress, resolve blockers, and uphold product quality
- Act as the escalation point for critical product or customer issues
- Champion continuous discovery and user-centered design by:
- Engaging regularly with students, teachers, and school leaders
- Rapidly testing and iterating based on qualitative and quantitative feedback
Author, Reviewer & Subject Matter Expert Management (30%)
- Identify, recruit, and manage a high-quality network of contributors, including:
- Authors, reviewers, subject matter experts, key customer influencers, and thought leaders
- Build and maintain strong relationships to ensure:
- Exceptional e-learning resource development
- Effective product positioning in the education market
Comprehensive Market Research & Product Conceptualization (20%)
- Conduct research using diverse tools and strategies, including:
- Field calls, focus groups, surveys, prototype reviews, product testing, user data
- Classroom observation, feedback from CX/CST teams, and industry best practice reviews
- Attendance at subject-area conferences
- Identify and validate student and teacher personas
- Discover new e-learning product opportunities that:
- Support personalized, teacher- and student-centric experiences
- Reflect effective curriculum interpretation and pedagogical practices
- Save teachers time while enhancing learning outcomes
- Translate insights into actionable strategies to support customer retention and business growth
Business Case Development & Project Costing (5%)
- Collaborate with Content & Curriculum, Development, and Content Services teams to:
- Define project specifications, budgets, and feature/functionality requirements
- Contribute to business case development for new product opportunities
Market Launch Support (5%)
- Work with the Program Specialist and Product Marketing Manager to develop launch materials, including:
- Key learning resource benefits and instructional overviews
- Testimonials from authors or reviewers
- Resource FAQs, implementation tools, and sales positioning materials
- Presentations and training content to support internal and external stakeholders
Requirements
The successful candidate for this role will possess the following requirements:
- University degree
- Minimum 3 years of experience in the K–12 educational Ed-Tech market, including direct collaboration with content creators
- Current knowledge of digital technologies, AI, digital learning tools, multimedia applications, and how students learn best in a digital environment
- Strong understanding of the Canadian K–12 education landscape, including curricula, instructional practices, and emerging trends in teaching, learning, and assessment
- Ability to synthesize and clearly communicate market needs and trends
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
- Results-oriented, strategic thinker with strong problem-solving and innovative thinking skills
- Exceptional relationship management skills, including experience recruiting, managing, and mentoring internal and external authors, reviewers, editors, subject matter experts, and digital content developers
- Ability to manage high-volume workloads, juggle multiple priorities, pivot when needed, and thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness and ability to travel
