Join a dynamic and entrepreneurial team at a boutique, F&B-forward hotel property with a start-up energy and luxury brand backing. We are seeking a hands-on, solutions-driven Director of Finance with extensive hospitality industry experience to help stabilize, optimize, and lead the financial operations of a 36-room hotel as it transitions from its opening phase into long-term performance and operational excellence.
Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Leadership & Strategy
Serve as the senior-most finance leader on property, reporting directly to the General Manager.
Lead financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, and reporting activities.
Partner closely with Corporate Finance and ownership on reporting and strategic initiatives.
Operational Finance Management
Oversee all accounting functions including AP, payroll (via Accounting Manager), and financial controls.
Develop and implement robust financial processes, controls, and systems tailored to a lean, agile hospitality environment.
Provide hands-on support in day-to-day accounting tasks as needed—this is not a desk-only role.
Team Management & Development
Manage and mentor the Accounting Manager and AP Clerk.
Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within a young team.
Systems Optimization & Process Improvement
Identify and implement opportunities to improve existing systems and workflows.
Establish procedures and best practices where few may currently exist.
Drive tech and tool adoption with an entrepreneurial mindset.
CPA designation is mandatory
Must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident
Minimum of 5–7 years of progressive experience in hotel finance, with at least 2 years in a senior leadership role such as Director of Finance or very strong Assistant Director of Finance
Proven ability to lead in an environment with minimal existing infrastructure
Previous experience working in hospitality and hotel operations is non-negotiable
Entrepreneurial spirit and comfort with ambiguity and change
Strong communication, leadership, and business partnership skills
Experience in F&B-heavy environments is a strong asset
Willingness to relocate from another province (relocation assistance provided)
Salary: $160,000–$165,000 CAD
Bonus: Up to 20%
Vacation: 3 weeks
