Ballads Workforce Development Division is hiring a new facilitator role for our Professional Insurance Careers (PIC) integrated training program. This program is an occupational skills training program with a focus on the Insurance industry. The objective of the program is to recruit, mentor and guide unemployed individuals who have a desire to rapidly reintegrate to the workforce, gain and maintain meaningful employment in the Insurance industry.
The Insurance Facilitator will have a vital role in Ballads Edmonton Professional Insurance Careers (PIC) program, and we are looking for someone who is:

This position is in-person in our Downtown Edmonton office and reports to the Program Supervisor.
You want this position because you will:
- Develop, maintain and track individual course and program evaluations for each student;
- Teach the Ballad Professional Insurance Careers materials using a variety of learning tools to address different learning styles
- Educate the students to successfully pass all exams and certifications by using a variety of learning tools to address different learning styles
- Develop/modify workshops and programming to meet the needs of program participants based upon the Professional Insurance Careers curriculum and deliverables;
- Assess individual needs of potential participants;
- Develop, select and revise course material and curriculum on an ongoing basis;
- Collaborate with Senior Program Supervisor to ensure consistency on participant progress and program outcomes;
- Develop and maintain professional contacts in the Insurance Industry that may provide enriching experiences and/or work placement opportunities;
You are ready for this position because you have the following experience:
A professional with proven experience collaborating with unemployed individuals and groups, building and maintaining relationships with staff and external stakeholders, and educating participants from Edmonton and area.
- Relevant insurance credentials such as GLQP or CAIB or CIP.
- 2 to 4 years experience working in the insurance industry.
- Prior experience in leading large groups to success (an equivalent combination of education and professional experience will be considered).
- Experience with pre-employment strategies and knowledge of the local labour market are considered assets.
- Connections within the Insurance sector in Edmonton is considered an asset.
- Public speaking or group facilitation within a formal environment or on the job must be something you enjoy.
- Proven intermediate skill level in Microsoft Office and online database tools (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel).
- Intermediate skill level working in online database tools.
