Job Overview

We are seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead and grow our talented engineering team. As an integral member of our leadership group, you will be responsible for guiding a team of engineers in the development, delivery, and maintenance of high-impact products. You will combine your strong technical expertise in Java, Angular, and AWS with your proven leadership skills to drive innovation and ensure successful project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and ownership.

  • Drive the delivery of high-quality products on schedule, ensuring alignment with business goals and customer needs.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Design, QA, and other stakeholders to define requirements, set priorities, and deliver features.

  • Provide technical guidance and hands-on support in Java, Angular, and AWS, ensuring best practices and modern engineering standards.

  • Own the team's technical roadmap, making strategic decisions about architecture, scaling, and technology adoption.

  • Develop and track key metrics to measure team performance, product quality, and delivery timelines.

  • Foster career growth and professional development for team members through coaching, feedback, and regular performance evaluations.

  • Participate in recruiting, hiring, and onboarding new talent to build a high-performing engineering team.

  • Proactively identify risks, resolve conflicts, and remove blockers to ensure smooth project execution.

Required Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of experience managing an engineering team responsible for full product delivery, preferably in an agile environment.

  • 8+ years of hands-on individual contributor (IC) experience in software engineering, with a strong focus on backend and frontend development.

  • Strong technical background and proficient in Java, Angular, and AWS.

  • Proficient in Java, Angular, and AWS.

  • Familiarity with automated testing frameworks and a strong focus on software quality.

  • Strong project management skills and familiarity with tools like Jira, Asana, or Trello.

  • Demonstrated ability to drive organizational change and process improvements.

  • Experience managing, mentoring, and developing engineering leaders (e.g., Engineering Managers or Team Leads).

  • Demonstrated success delivering products from ideation to launch.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Strategic thinker with the ability to balance short-term goals with long-term vision.

  • Experience with modern software development methodologies, CI/CD, and DevOps practices.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (Master's preferred).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (MS or PhD) in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
