A growing organization is seeking a Junior Accountant (Contract) to support its finance operations during an exciting phase of local expansion. About the Role
Reporting to a finance leader, this position provides key support across financial reporting, reconciliations, payables/receivables, and month-end activities. The ideal candidate brings foundational accounting knowledge, excellent organizational skills, and a collaborative approach to problem solving.
What You'll Do
  • Organize and analyze financial records and support general ledger accuracy
  • Assist with accounts receivable, payables, claims payments, and regulatory remittances
  • Support month-end processes, including journal entries and reconciliations
  • Verify and reconcile transactions from internal systems and payment platforms
  • Assist with bank reconciliations and cash activity tracking
  • Contribute to internal and external audit requests and special finance projects
  • Help analyze financial results and variances, and contribute to reporting deliverables
  • Identify areas for process improvement or automation within the accounting cycle
What You Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field (CPA in progress is a plus)
  • At least 2 years of accounting experience, ideally in insurance or a regulated industry
  • Strong Excel skills; comfort with ERP systems (experience with SAP is an asset)
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles; IFRS familiarity is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a hybrid work setting
  • Strong communication skills and willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment
