About the Role
Reporting to a finance leader, this position provides key support across financial reporting, reconciliations, payables/receivables, and month-end activities. The ideal candidate brings foundational accounting knowledge, excellent organizational skills, and a collaborative approach to problem solving.
What You'll Do
- Organize and analyze financial records and support general ledger accuracy
- Assist with accounts receivable, payables, claims payments, and regulatory remittances
- Support month-end processes, including journal entries and reconciliations
- Verify and reconcile transactions from internal systems and payment platforms
- Assist with bank reconciliations and cash activity tracking
- Contribute to internal and external audit requests and special finance projects
- Help analyze financial results and variances, and contribute to reporting deliverables
- Identify areas for process improvement or automation within the accounting cycle
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field (CPA in progress is a plus)
- At least 2 years of accounting experience, ideally in insurance or a regulated industry
- Strong Excel skills; comfort with ERP systems (experience with SAP is an asset)
- Solid understanding of accounting principles; IFRS familiarity is a plus
- Strong attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a hybrid work setting
- Strong communication skills and willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment
