Benefits:

Salary:

$135,000 - $160,000 (CAD)

Summary:

The Sales Manager is the leader of a selling team comprised of Direct and Distributor Sales Representatives. This leader is accountable for achieving sales and profitability goals. This role provides direction and leadership to the geographic team while responsible for the customer satisfaction and market share within Canadian region. Sets and approves pricing for the local customer base for non-national accounts. Implements initiatives to drive the sales team's financial results.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide leadership for internal and external customers in all assigned tasks, inclusive of constructive problem solving, facilitating creative improvements and inspiring others.
  • Devise and deploy all sales goals and objectives across the region, including the preparation of sales quotas and budgets.
  • Achieve the Region's revenue and profitability quotas for Signode products as they are sold into all customer segments within the Region; establish an environment and foundation for future sales growth, sell and coach others how to sell value and solutions to customers.
  • Direct the selling activities within the Region, inclusive of resource deployment and customer interactions. Prioritizes effectively and in accordance with corporate objectives.
  • Efficiently manage the region's distribution relationships; work in conjunction with the Senior Management team to ensure attention and growth in the key market segments.
  • Leads the Territory Managers, inclusive of managing performance, coaching, mentoring, hiring and career development.
  • Responsible for the Region's forecasting and sales tracking.
  • Evaluate market trends and gather competitive information, identify trends that effect current and future growth of regional sales and profitability; disseminate information to regional sales representatives and sales management.
  • Empowered to make decisions within the Region and on behalf of the Region and authority to make cross functional decisions in partnership with peers and other functions.
  • Manage the opportunity pipeline to guarantee success and regional growth.
  • Strategize sales plans for short- and long-term objectives.
  • Plan and execute trade show appearances.
  • Develop and implement distribution strategies, reselling agreements and other growth opportunities.
  • Create product segmentation strategies where needed to maximize business opportunities across various sales channels.
  • Develop, manage and nurture new business accounts and partnerships to accomplish profit and volume goals.
  • Provide input from sales – including growth, competitive analysis, market trends and business environment – for strategic planning processes.
  • Develop execution strategies and tactics to support strategic plans at the regional level.
  • Conduct sales forecasts and weekly and/or monthly status reports.
  • Responsible for collection of accounts receivable in conjunction with A/R staff to ensure rapid and effective collection.
  • Prepare and assist with training curriculum & materials for use by the sales team focused on product application, solutions, Power-BI, and CRM utilization.
Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor's Degree in Business, Communication or Marketing is strongly preferred

Experience:

  • 4 - 7 years of direct work experience in a management capacity is an asset. Strong experience in all aspects of sales, including growth strategies, distribution channel management, account development and business planning.
  • Excellent grasp of brand building and articulation of value propositions
  • A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skills
  • Proficiency in MS Suite products (specifically Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and Word)
  • Knowledge of ERP Systems or Sales Management Software is a plus
  • Experience creating and managing budgets
  • 70% travel required
