Role Overview:You'll expertly apply lacquer-based paints, stains, and high-gloss topcoats on cabinet doors and parts using a hanging-line system. You'll ensure exceptional finishes that meet visual and quality standards while maintaining workflow and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:Finish Application:
  • Operate spray booths and hanging-line systems to apply stains, seals, primers, and high-gloss lacquer coats to cabinet doors and components.
  • Mix and match lacquer, catalyzed paints, topcoats, and stains to achieve specified gloss levels and color consistency.
  • Execute multi-step processes (e.g., stain → sealer → top coat → post-catalyzed lacquer) with precise timing and technique
Surface Preparation & Quality Control:
  • Inspect items before and after finishing for defects such as runs, dust nibs, or color inconsistencies.
  • Perform wet sanding, buffing, and final polish to achieve ultra-high gloss finishes where required.
Line Operation & Efficiency:
  • Hang/align parts correctly to ensure even coating.
  • Monitor line pace, coordinate with prep and drying areas to prevent bottlenecks.
Equipment Maintenance & Safety:
  • Maintain spray booths: clean guns, filters, and spray areas regularly.
  • Follow strict safety protocols with PPE and ventilation to manage solvent fumes and fire risks .

Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in wood/cabinet finishing, specifically with lacquer or catalyzed paints and high-gloss finishes
  • Skilled in spray gun operation, including HVLP or airless systems.
  • Proven ability in complex finishing procedures: sanding, stain application, sealing, buffing
  • Understanding of hanging-line workflows and ability to maintain consistent finish quality at production speeds.
  • Strong color judgment and eye for detail; knowledge of gloss levels and sheen control.

Preferred Skills/Certifications:
  • Experience with catalyzed lacquer systems and solvent-based coatings.
  • Competency in sanding, buffing, polishing for mirror-like surfaces .
  • Familiarity with paint booth ventilation and explosion-proof safety standards.

Physical & Working Conditions
  • Standing for extended shifts; lifting up to 50 lbs
  • Work in dusty environments; handle solvent fumes—PPE and safety protocols essential.
  • Fast-paced, repetitive workflow requiring dexterity and focus.

Hours of Work:
  • Standard workweek is Monday to Friday, 6:45 AM to 3:15 PM.
  • On-site role.
