JOB STATEMENT

As a member of the Client Services team, the Community Outreach Ambassador will lead local outreach initiatives to connect new entrepreneurs with Business Links programs and services.

Working within your home region, you will be responsible for visiting registry offices and municipal service counters to build relationships, share resources, and spark interest in the support we offer. This is a dynamic, hands-on role that emphasizes visibility, connection, and community engagement.

This short-term contract position reports directly to the Director, Client Services & Operations. It offers a unique opportunity to support early-stage entrepreneurs and contribute to a proven outreach model that may shape future engagement strategies.

Edmonton

ROLE COMPONENTS

  • Represent Business Link at registry offices and municipal counters within your assigned region.
  • Clearly and concisely explain Business Links programs and services to frontline staff and local entrepreneurs.
  • Distribute marketing materials and track outreach activities using simple digital tools.
  • Identify potential client referrals and share local insights to support future outreach strategies.
  • Maintain accurate outreach logs and submit weekly activity summaries.
  • Participate in onboarding, regular check-ins, and debrief sessions with the central team.
  • Travel within your region as needed (a personal vehicle is required; mileage allowance provided).

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - youre approachable, proactive, and comfortable engaging in new environments.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to independently plan and manage your weekly schedule, including time on the road.
  • A genuine passion for small business development and community engagement.
  • Proficient with basic digital tools, including email, web forms, CRM systems, and spreadsheets.
  • Familiarity with Albertas communities and geography.
  • Valid Class 5 Drivers License and access to a reliable vehicle.
  • Experience in outreach, canvassing, public engagement, or promotional work is considered and asset.
  • Knowledge of small business support programs and services in Alberta is an asset.

COMPENSATION

Salary competitive with similar positions in not-for-profit and government-funded organizations.
