Analytical Chemistry, Analyst
The Chemistry Lab Analyst is responsible for performing qualitative and quantitative chemical analyses of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products. This role ensures that all testing is conducted in compliance with internal procedures and external regulatory requirements. The Analyst will work closely with the quality control, production, and R&D teams to support product integrity and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct chemical and physical testing using techniques such as titration, spectroscopy (UV/Vis, IR), chromatography (GC, HPLC), and wet chemistry
- Analyze samples and interpret data to ensure compliance with specifications and regulatory standards
- Accurately document all results and observations in laboratory notebooks, reports, and LIMS systems
- Calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments and equipment
- Prepare reagents, standards, and test solutions as needed
- Participate in method development, validation, and optimization initiatives
- Review and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) and test methods
- Identify and report deviations, non-conformances, and out-of-specification results
- Ensure all activities are conducted following GMP, GLP, and other relevant quality standards
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment
- Assist in training junior analysts or technicians when necessary
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related scientific field required
- 1–3 years of laboratory experience in a quality control or analytical chemistry environment
- Familiarity with laboratory instrumentation, especially HPLC, GC, FTIR, UV-Vis, and titration systems
- Strong understanding of chemical safety and good laboratory practices
- Excellent attention to detail, data accuracy, and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment
- Experience with LIMS or electronic data capture systems is a plus
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Primarily laboratory-based; may require extended periods of standing
- Potential exposure to hazardous chemicals and biological agents
- Personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn as required
- May involve occasional off-shift or weekend work depending on sample demands
