JOB DESCRIPTION
Area Managers will lead efforts across multi-disciplined teams to execute the overall strategy and build plans, being directly responsible for all work assigned and performed in their area. They will manage and provide oversight into safety, quality, cost, and schedule by working cross functionally with other departments driving output for business objectives.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Accountable for safe operations within prescribed areas. Monitor work site, create and enable safe work plans, complete audits and continue to develop safety culture within a cross functional led team
- Drive continuous improvement approach to quality, lead quality within prescribed area and drive out issues related which impact business objectives. Ensure cross functional engagement between teams to negate quality issues.
- Lead, daily manage and control tasks across a multi-discipline team ensuring schedule adherence. Ensure task alignment and schedule durations applied are correct and aligned cross functionally to enable successful execution.
- Lead, daily manage and control tasks working cross functionally with planning and production management teams to ensure budgets are correct and tasks can be completed within the correct budgets.
- Participate in the development of capability, ensuring the right skills/knowledge and behaviors are harnessed, engaging people to be empowered and continuously improve our processes and ways of working.
- Oversee accurate time entry of employees and address any missed targets or noncompliance.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Technical Degree, Diploma, Red Seal, or equivalent
- Project Management Knowledge (Excel, Microsoft)
- Relevant trade/engineering certification (e.g. Nace, CWB, etc)
- Technically familiar with industrial marine new construction & repair
- Able to demonstrate risk management & Problem solving
- Exhibit strong leadership & time management abilities
