RESPONSIBILITIES
The Director of Asset Management and Reliability works with Irving Consumer Products sites to implement and maintain world-class processes and standards. Reporting to the VP of Manufacturing, this role collaborates with Reliability, Maintenance, and Operations teams to develop and standardize best practices based on the Irving Key Elements of Reliability framework. Key duties include improving asset performance, promoting a proactive culture, empowering Operations in reliability efforts, and supporting site teams through leadership. The director coordinates closely with management and all departments across ICP sites and serves as the main contact for aligning reliability standards with the Irving Group Moncton Asset Reliability Group.
- Lead the deployment of the Key Elements of Reliability framework (aligned with standards such as RCM II, ISO 55000, and best practices) across all sites. Establish an auditing program using existing IMS programs to compare our current systems with world-class standards, providing visibility into gaps in our systems and identifying areas for improvement and actions to close these gaps
- Provide leadership in the best practices of asset reliability and maintenance to the site managers and ensure consistency and continuous improvement
- Develop and monitor standardized KPIs (PM compliance, emergency work%, MTBF, etc.)
- Maintain a 5-year asset reliability plan for ICP operations
- Holds ownership of the 3-year obsolescence plan, drives cost savings
- Responsible for the Storeroom inventory management systems to maintain the right parts, inventory turns, and overall reduction in Inventories held while meeting our Equipment Reliability targets
- Facilitate root cause analysis (RCA) for chronic failures and high-impact events
- Standardize and optimize use of the CMMS system across all plants
- Build capability in operator asset care, predictive maintenance, defect elimination, and maintenance planning & scheduling
QUALIFICATIONS
- Post-secondary degree in Engineering, or related discipline desired
- 12+ years of relevant experience
- P. Engineering designation would be considered an asset
- Strong understanding of reliability-centered maintenance (RCM), TPM, and asset management standards (e.g., ISO 55000)
- Demonstrated experience in multi-site leadership and framework deployment is desired
- Strong coaching and mentoring skills
- Proficient in CMMS systems, data analytics, and KPI development
- Comfortable presenting technical data to up to executive-level audiences
- Ability to influence without authority
- Strong communication and presentation skills
